Seasonally-adjusted industrial turnover grows 0.8% in Q2

Seasonally-adjusted turnover increased by 0.8% in the second quarter of 2019 over the previous quarter. When compared to the corresponding period of 2018, working-day adjusted industrial turnover increased by 2%.

Malta’s poverty risk slightly grows to 16.8% in 2017

The rate of at-risk-of-poverty (ARP) in Malta is slightly up by 0.1 percentage point (pp) to the rate of 16.8%. This essentially means that the number of people living in households with a national equivalised income below the at-risk-of-poverty line (€8,868) was 78,685 in 2017.

The total number of inbound visitors in Malta grew by 5.5% to an estimated 280,522 in June 2019, as compared to the corresponding month in 2018. Total expenditure also increased by 10.7% to an estimated €235.4m, over the corresponding month in 2018.

The seasonally-adjusted index of industrial production increased by 1.9% in June 2019, compared to the previous month of the same year. The working-day adjusted index of industrial production increased by a y.o.y. 1.7%.
